Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

1. The short version

DeniBook does not collect your information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Everything you enter is stored in your own web browser, on your own device. We never receive it, see it, or have any way to access it.

2. Who this policy is from

This policy is published by [OPERATOR NAME OR BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us"), who makes the DeniBook application available at https://denibook.commitfrncs.xyz. You can contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

3. What DeniBook stores, and where

When you use DeniBook you may enter information about your customers and their credit ("deni") with your shop. That may include:

All of this is stored only in your browser's local storage, under the key denibook.v1, on the device you are using. It is not transmitted anywhere. If you open DeniBook on a different device or a different browser, you will see an empty app — because the data never left the first one.

4. What we do not do

Because we do not collect personal information, we also cannot access, correct, or delete it on your behalf. Only you can, from your own device.

5. Network connections the app makes

DeniBook works fully offline. The only time it contacts anything outside your device is when you tap a reminder button:

These only happen on your explicit tap, and it is your WhatsApp or mobile network operator — not us — that handles the message from that point. Their own privacy policies apply.

6. If you are a shop owner storing your customers' information

When you enter your customers' names, phone numbers, and debts into DeniBook, you are responsible for that information. Under data protection law — in Kenya, the Data Protection Act 2019 — a shop that keeps records about its customers is generally acting as a data controller for that information.

In practice, that means it is your responsibility to make sure you are entitled to hold that information, that you use it only for managing your shop's credit, that you keep it accurate, and that you handle any request from a customer to see or delete their information. We are only the tool; we never see any of it.

7. Backups and exports

DeniBook can create a JSON backup file and CSV exports of your records. These are files created on your device, and you decide what happens to them. If you save a backup to cloud storage, email it to yourself, or share it with someone, that copy is then governed by whatever service you used. Keep backups somewhere you trust.

8. How long information is kept, and how to delete it

Information stays in your browser until you remove it. You can delete it at any time:

Once deleted, it is gone — we hold no copy, so there is nothing to recover. The only exception is any backup file you made yourself, which remains wherever you saved it.

9. Security, and its limits

Your records are stored unencrypted in your browser's local storage. That keeps them private from the internet, but it does not protect them from someone with access to your device or your browser profile. Anyone who can unlock your phone or computer, or use your browser, can read them.

So: keep your device locked, and be aware that a shared or public computer is not a safe place to keep your shop's records.

10. Children

DeniBook is a business record-keeping tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children — and as explained above, we do not collect information at all.

11. Your rights

Data protection laws — including the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and the GDPR for people in the EU — give individuals rights over their personal information, such as the right to access, correct, and delete it. Because DeniBook transmits nothing to us, we hold no personal information about you or your customers, so there is nothing for us to action.

You can exercise all of these rights directly, from the app, on your own device. If you believe your information is being mishandled by a shop that keeps records about you, the shop is the party to raise it with.

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of DeniBook adds online sync or payments — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Because the app's design is that your data stays on your device, we do not expect to need to contact you about it.
